The Presidents of the Polytechnical University of Kabul (PUK) 
 
Prof. Dr. Mir Fakhruddin
Mr. Mir Fakhruddin was born in 1948. 

After completing his High School degree, Mr. Mir Fakhruddin started his studies of "Geology and Exploration of Mines" at the PIK and finished his Bachelor of Science degree in 1974. 

After his first studies, Mr. Mir Fakhruddin worked for three years as an engineer for exploration of mines in the Afghan areas of Talke-Atschin, Talke Mama Kehl, Bireit Sangillan and Herat. 

In 1977, the ministry for Industry and Mines sent him for further education to the former Soviet Union, where he successfully finished his Master of Science degree. In 1980, Mr. Mir Fakhruddin started teaching at his former university, the Polytechnical University of Kabul. Again, this time in 1984, he was sent to the former Soviet Union, to complete his PhD at the Institute for Mines in Moscow. 

In 1992, Mr. Mir Fakhruddin became Head of the Department of Geology and Mines at the PUK and in 2002 he was elected by the professors of the university to become the Head of the Polytechical University of Kabul.

Prof. Dr. Mir Fakhruddin has never been a member of a political party or organization.

Prof. Amanullah Zhghorandoi
Prof. Zhghorandoi (M.A. Mathematics) is vice chancellor for administrative affairs at the Kabul Polytechnic University. He teaches at the department for higher mathematics and has been affiliated and working at the Polytechnic University for over 27 years.

Prof. Zhghorandoi speaks Dari, Pashto, English and Russian. In addition, he has computer skills in Microsoft Windows and Office.

Prof. Dr. Abdul Qayuom Karimzada

Prof. Dr. Karimzada was born in 1950 in Laghman/Afghanistan.

Dr. Karimzada studied as early as in 1970 for a short time at the Polytechnic University of Kabul. In 1977, he obtained his Master of Science at the Moscow Mine Institute, and received his PhD in 1987 in Applied Geometry and Engineering Graphic from the Polytechnic University and Kiev Civil Engineering Institute.

Between 1999 and 2002, Dr. Karimzada worked as the Dean of the Engineering faculty at the Afghan University in Peshawar. In 2002, he joined the Polytechnic University, teaching Technical Drawing and Graphic Geometry. In 2007, Dr. Karimzada became appointed Vice-Chancellor for Research/Scientific Affairs at the Polytechnic University.

Dr. Karimzara speaks Dari, Pashto, English and Russian, is well-trained in the use of PCs, and has published more than 35 scientific articles.

Prof. Abdulbaqi Rahmani
Prof. Abdulbaqi Rahmani was born 1960 in Kabul/Afghanistan.

Mr. Rahmani joined the Polytechnical University in 1979 as a student at the Geology and Mines Faculty. He focused on the subject of Exploration Mines of Profitable Solid Materials and finished his Master of Science degree in 1984.

Immediately after Mr. Rahmani received his degree, he joined the staff of the Polytechnical University as a professor at the Faculty of Geology and Mines.

Today, Mr. Rahmani holds the position as Vice-Chancellor of the Polytechnical University and takes care of all student affairs.
